  • Relocation costs are borne by the employing service.
  • Relocation assistance is considered on a case by case basis, the decision on relocation assistance must be made by the General Manager of the Service concerned (as per the "Recruitment Policy")
  • All reimbursements will be made to your candidate once they have commenced working for the WDHB and candidates must submit all their claims within 3 months of start of work. 
Criteria for eligibility:
  • For an individual/appointment to be eligible for relocation assistance, the following criteria must be met:
  • Candidate is to be employed in a permanent position or to a fixed term contract of no less than 12 months duration;
  • Candidate currently resides more than 150km from the greater Auckland Region;
  • A service bond agreement is entered into at the time the employment is established

General Provisions:

  • Reimbursement of a one way economy travel fare from origin of offer, for the candidate only (not their dependants);
  • Up to a maximum of 4 weeks paid temporary accommodation;
  • Up to a maximum of 4 weeks rental car hire;
  • Costs for shipping of household effects/freight forward;
  • Airport Transfer

The Global Mobility Consultant will guide your candidates through the process of booking those services with the WDHB preferred suppliers, as well as the exclusions (eg: the WDHB does not cover storage of household effects)

 Two processes for  Relocation Expense Claims:

  • If they use the WDHB preferred suppliers, the suppliers will invoice us directly and the Global Mobility Consultant will raise a requisition on Oracle for you to approve in order to generate the Purchase Order number; 
  • If the new candidate provides receipts/invoices themselves, the Global Mobility Consultant will prepare the Expense claim forms. The Expense claim forms will then be emailed to yourself for signature and the new candidate to sign. You will need to send it back to the GMS in the internal mail, after which the reimbursement will be made.
