Approval to Recruit

Once you have identified a need for a new staff member or have received and processed the resignation of a current staff member, including Fixed Term or Casual positions, the next step is to complete the mandatory:

Click here > Electronic online Approval to Recruit Form (ATR).

Please ensure that you complete all parts of the form with the information required. (See tips below)

You will then receive an email request from sharepoint, to approve the ATR. The approval request will then go on along the approval pathway.

The approval pathway is as follows:

  • Replacement roles (except MH roles) - Operations Manager - General Manager or ADON (nursing roles)
  • New Roles and all roles for MH - Operations Manager - Finance Manager - General Manager or ADON (nursing roles) - Director of Hospital Services (Not MH, Corporate or Facilities)

Please note that the RC Manager should raise the ATR for their service area.

If the approval request is declined:

  • You will then need to get feedback from your manager and if required, make changes by reloading another ATR.

Once fully approved:

  • Your Recruitment Consultant will take a job brief from you. This will inform the advertising and the screening criteria.

Tips on completing the ATR:

  • Ensure you know RC Code - eg (01-xxx-xxx-yyyy) please include the account code (yyyy)
  • Check the dropdown boxes so you can pick the correct information e.g. Recruitment Consultant name.
  • Ensure you advise the correct Standard Payroll Designation - if you do not know this please click the Standard designations file to find out.
  • Be clear about the reason you require the role to be filled. A good justification goes a long way!
  • Attach the Job Description and a Business Case in the attachments box at the bottom if necessary.
  • Once the form has been completed in full, click the submit button at the bottom of the page
  • Only the Author of the ATR can make changes so make sure it is right the first time. DO NOT delete any emails or change the approval pathway or it could delay the approval of your job
